Our suppliers are committed to maintaining high standards and participate in recognised initiatives that help protect the luxury resale market from counterfeit goods.

We build long-term relationships with suppliers who share our commitment to authenticity, transparency and quality.

Careful Assessment

Before an item is offered for sale, it is carefully reviewed using our knowledge, experience and established authentication practices.

Our assessment may include consideration of:

• Overall construction

• Materials and craftsmanship

• Hardware and branding

• Stitching and finishing

• Labels, serial numbers or creed information where applicable

• Brand-specific characteristics

• Overall consistency with the known design and manufacturing period

Because every vintage item is unique, each assessment is undertaken individually.

Independent Authentication

Independent authentication is available for selected eligible designer pieces through CheckCheck, Vintage Vault Aus’s independent third-party authentication provider.

CheckCheck authentication is not automatically performed on every item offered by Vintage Vault Aus.

Some pieces may include independent authentication and a digital Certificate of Authenticity as part of their offering. Where authentication is not already included, it may be available for eligible pieces on request and may involve an additional cost.

Where an eligible item receives a PASS result and a Certificate of Authenticity is included or requested, a digital CheckCheck Certificate of Authenticity provides an independently verifiable authentication record associated with that piece.

Independent authentication complements, rather than replaces - Vintage Vault Aus’s trusted sourcing, careful assessment, curation and provenance processes.
